What Happens in Vegas
12:56 PMOver the past almost 4 years, post-high school graduation, I've noticed that I slowly keep moving up north closer to the cold and farther away from my family (not intentionally AWAY from them, because I love them!) From Vegas to St. George, St. George to Provo, and from Provo to (Alabama for the summer but that doesn't really count) Logan. Needless to say, the trips back home have become farther apart to due distance. But given the opportunity, I'll take any chance I get to see my fam!
I'm so glad I was able to go on my quick little trip because I missed my family sooo much! Plus it was nice to take a break from all the snow up here.
I drove down Wednesday night and due to unexpected snow fall, it took me TEN hours instead of seven to get there. All went well though thankfully and there was no harm to me or my car! I brought my little Olaf with me and slept throughout the whole drive down! So when we arrived at the house at 1am, guess who was wide awake? (eyeroll emoji)
While I was down, I had time to see some of my best friends, one of which had her second baby boy almost two weeks ago! I got to meet him and he is just so adorable!
My family and I went to some new places (to us) to eat, including Rachel's Kitchen located in The District, and the Bad Owl Coffee shop. For anyone that knows me, I'm a Harry Potter fan (but an even bigger Disney fan hehe). This Harry Potter themed shop had me feeling like a wizard the moment I stepped inside! The lights were dimmed and the walls were covered in wood and HP decorations, which gave a very modern "Leaky Cauldron" feel for me. Being that none of us drink coffee, we were lucky that they also serve dessert waffles and pastries. We all got a different flavored waffle and some butterbrew (their version of butterbeer) and ate our muggle hearts out! It was a very magical experience for me haha
(I didn't take any other pictures, not even with my fam, and I'm still so mad at myself for it)
We also did some normal weekend stuff like make a Target trip (or two), clean the house, and stuff up on free Saturday food samples while grocery shopping at Smith's. I also made it over to the dentist, (who I hadn't seen in probably 2 years, whoops) where I had to get a cavity filled. Not so fun but hey, not bad for not going in so long!
My proudest moment of the trip was convincing my parents, my brother, and his girlfriend to watch my new favorite movie Trolls. My dad and brother's girlfriend fell asleep during it for a little bit, but I think overall they enjoyed it haha
The only person missing was my sister who's going to school in Price right now. She'll be down next week for spring break/a Disney Land trip with some friends (darn her).
It was so great seeing everyone and catching up! Growing up, getting married, moving out..it's great, but can sometimes be a bummer when you don't get to see your loved ones as often. We talked about meeting up Easter weekend for a few days, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that it works out! One day I hope to be wealthy enough to fly down whenever I want and not worry about going broke...or I hope that someone invents the teleporter soon. I mean, it IS 2017, so anything is possible!
